How to Install GTA Mzansi: Full Setup Guide
GTA Mzansi comes as one .7z file (about 650MB), not a ready-to-install APK. You unzip it, install the APK that matches your Android version, then copy the game files into the right folders. It takes about 10 minutes. Follow the steps below.
Before You Start
- Free space: at least 2GB. The download is 650MB and the unzipped files are about the same size again.
- ZArchiver: install the free ZArchiver app from the Play Store. You need it to open the .7z file and to copy files into the Android folder.
- Your Android version: open Settings → About phone → Android version. The setup is different for Android 8–10 and Android 11–15.
- Remove old copies: if you had GTA San Andreas or an older GTA Mzansi installed, uninstall it first so the files don't clash.
Step 1: Download and Unzip
- Download the GTA Mzansi file from the download button on the homepage. Wait for the full 650MB to finish.
- Open ZArchiver and go to your Download folder.
- Tap the
GTA-MZANSII.7zfile and choose Extract here. No password is needed. - You now have a folder called
GTA_MZANSI_KASI_VIBES_By_KingThug. Open it.
What's inside the folder
GTA_SA_11,12,13,14&15_BY_King_Thug_3.01.apk— the game for Android 11 to 15com.rockstargames.gtasa— the Mzansi game files (cars, map, sounds, mods)SETUP FOR 8 TO 10— the game and folders for Android 8 to 10Setup_For_13&14.txt— the creator's own notes (this guide follows them)
Step 2: Allow Installing Apps from ZArchiver
The first time you tap an APK, Android blocks it. Tap Settings on the pop-up, turn on Allow from this source for ZArchiver, then go back and tap the APK again.
Step 3A: Android 11, 12, 13, 14 or 15
Most phones from 2021 onward. On Android 8–10? Skip to Step 3B.
- In
GTA_MZANSI_KASI_VIBES_By_KingThug, tapGTA_SA_11,12,13,14&15_BY_King_Thug_3.01.apkand install it. - Open the game once, then close it. This creates the folder
Android/data/com.rockstargames.gtasathat the next steps copy into. - Back in ZArchiver, open
GTA_MZANSI_KASI_VIBES_By_KingThug/com.rockstargames.gtasa/files. Select everything except the two fastman92 files (fastman92limitAdjuster.logandfastman92limitAdjuster_GTASA.ini). Copy, then paste intoAndroid/data/com.rockstargames.gtasa/files. Choose Replace if asked. - Go back to
GTA_MZANSI_KASI_VIBES_By_KingThug/com.rockstargames.gtasa. Select everything except the 3 foldersconfigs, filesandmods. Copy, then paste intoAndroid/data/com.rockstargames.gtasa. - Open
GTA_MZANSI_KASI_VIBES_By_KingThug/com.rockstargames.gtasa/mods, copylibCLEOMod.soand paste it intoAndroid/data/com.rockstargames.gtasa/mods. - Open the game and play.
Can't open Android/data? Android 11+ hides it from most file managers. In ZArchiver, tap the Android/data folder and allow access when asked. If your phone still blocks it, ZArchiver's settings offer a Shizuku option to get access.
Step 3B: Android 8, 9 or 10
This setup uses a special “Unprotected” game that reads its files from a folder called Android_Unprotected instead of the normal Android folder.
- Open
GTA_MZANSI_KASI_VIBES_By_KingThug/SETUP FOR 8 TO 10and installUnprotected GTASA 2.00 AML1.2.4 FLA7.6.apk. Don't open it yet. - Go back to
GTA_MZANSI_KASI_VIBES_By_KingThug/com.rockstargames.gtasa, select thefilesfolder and cut it. - Paste it into
SETUP FOR 8 TO 10/Android_Unprotected/data/com.rockstargames.gtasa. - Go back to
SETUP FOR 8 TO 10, cut the wholeAndroid_Unprotectedfolder and paste it into the top level of your phone storage (the same place you see theAndroid,DownloadandDCIMfolders). - Open the game and play.
The creator notes this method can also work on some Android 11 and 12 phones. If Step 3A fails on your phone, try this one.
If It Doesn't Work
The game opens to a black screen or closes straight away
The files are in the wrong place. Check the folder names match exactly, and that you didn't end up with a folder inside a folder of the same name (for example files/files).
Black screen fix guide →"App not installed" when tapping the APK
Uninstall any other GTA San Andreas or GTA Mzansi first, make sure you allowed ZArchiver to install apps, and check you picked the right APK for your Android version.
App not installed fix →The game runs but it's normal San Andreas, not Mzansi
The game files weren't copied, or were copied before you opened the game once (Android 11–15). Open the game, close it, then repeat the copy steps.
Game files not loading fix →ZArchiver says the file is damaged
The download didn't finish. Delete it and download again on Wi-Fi. The full file is about 650MB.
